3 Secret Strategies To Fitness Success

Depending on who you talk to these days, the definition of fitness varies. Many of us reach towards some type of fitness success and healthy habits throughout our life. My personal fitness success has been strong for a number of years due to my own personal secret sauce recipe. Maybe you have a few secret sauce ingredients as well?! Whatever your definition of fitness is, and whatever level of fitness you are trying to reach, allow me to help you reach your goals and fitness success with minimal struggle.

I’ve been exercising and playing sports since I was a teen, so physical fitness has always been a part of my life. I began to learn what healthy habits and behaviors felt like at an early age. Even though I put an unhealthy amount of focus on training my physical body, I realized that developing a focused fitness routine allowed me to obtain the body I had always wanted.

News Flash…My ego was bigger than I realized!

My past healthy fitness obsession ended up propelling me into my current day fitness success, practicing the same secret sauce fitness strategies I used years ago. Today however, I choose to implement my fitness strategies in order to go beyond looking good. I love to move without aches and pains, feel sustainable strength and endurance, maintain high amounts of daily energy levels, sleep sound throughout the night, and steer clear of injuries.

There are probably a hundred and one different mind and body strategies you can start using, but what’s more important is what works for YOU. Just like you stumbled across my fitness strategy article, there are numerous other recommendations that will serve you in your short and long term goals. I have narrowed down my top five fitness success strategies for you to add to your toolbox of kicking fitness ass.

In no particular order, let’s take a look at my 3 secret strategies to fitness success…

  1. The Power of Habit: Build a habit & routine and start to notice how your fitness troubles begin to slowly melt away. Paving your foundational building blocks of habit is more powerful than you might realize. It’s the glue that holds your fitness plan together and keeps things stable along your journey. Start with adding one new habit (maybe it’s eating breakfast or drinking coffee after you have food in your stomach) for one to two weeks and then begin adding something else. Allow yourself to SLOWLY and STEADILY build a routine.
  2. Pleasurable Foods Please!: It is an absolute MUST  to eat your “fun” foods, in order to fulfill your fitness success!

    Whatever label you want to put on them, you should allow your brain and body pleasurable foods that satisfy your cravings at times…..GUILT FREE!

    I feel that disassociating any guilty feelings is important, hence why I use the word pleasurable. When we consistently deprive ourselves of pleasurable foods, the more we typically enhance the craving for that food or a similar pleasure. Can you guess what usually follows constant deprivation?? A full blown sabotage is usually right around the corner. Why in the tootsie nuts hell would we want to set ourselves up for that!? The last thing that any of us want is to sabotage our hard work. Eating clean is necessary for health and homeostasis, and having some flexibility is just as important for your fitness success. Try eating clean throughout the week and then enjoy a few pleasurable foods on the weekends.

  3. Visualize The Success: The things we focus our mind on tend to plant, grow, and magnify. Picture yourself doing your fitness workout. What do you notice and feel in this image? Paint the image of you being energized, happy, and pushing past a difficult threshold. Make that image bigger as if it were a huge movie screen in front of you. Make sure it’s large and colorful. More importantly, notice how amazing you feel in this moment. Start using this easy visualization technique in any fitness, food, or health situation in order to set up your success. You might be pleasantly surprised with what it creates.
